1959-1969

Waldo McKaught, known as the father of our club, got the idea that Buick might be interested in sponsoring a PGA tournament at Warwick Hills. He approached Buick but they had no interest. However, they did say that Warwick could use the Buick name but they were not to approach any suppliers for advertisements in a program. In 1959, the tournament changed its name to The Buick Open.
